RealPresence Trio

Guide to connecting the RealPresence Trio to the One Touch Dial service.

Trio

Configuring a Registered Device

Register a New Poly Device

Before you can proceed, you must first register a new device and obtain generated credentials.

  • Registering a Poly Device

Configure Device Profile

  1. Go to the system web interface of the device, by entering the IP address of the device into the browser address. Note: You must log in as an administrator.
  2. Select Simple Setup from the tab menu.
  3. Ensure Generic is selected for the Base Profile. The Trio will not function with One Touch Dial service using the other profile options.

Enable Basic Authentication Feature

  1. Using a text editor of your choice, create a config file with the following content, and save with the extension .cfg (Example: enableBasicAuth.cfg):
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<!-- This flag enables basic authentication for exchange service in Trio -->

<PHONE_CONFIG>
   <ALL feature.exchange.allowBasicAuth="1"/>
</PHONE_CONFIG>
  1. Go to the system web interface of the device, by entering the IP address of the device into an internet browser.
    Note: You must log in as an administrator.
  2. Go to Utilities > Import & Export Configuration.
  3. Under the Import Configuration section, select Choose File.
  4. Select the .cfg file you created in step 1, and select Import.
  5. A confirmation will be displayed with "Configuration file imported successfully".
  6. Select Close.

Optional: If your Trio device is provisioned by a Provisioning Server, you can refer to its respective provisioning documentation on how to add this parameter to the configuration profile associated to your device.

Configure Device Calendaring

  1. Go to the system web interface of the device, by entering the IP address of the device into the browser address. Note: You must log in as an administrator.
    Example: https://<ip-address-of-trio>/
  2. Select Settings > Applications > Exchange Applications.
  3. Enter the following fields:
    • Enable: Exchange Calendar
    • Disable: AutoDiscover
    • Exchange Server URL: https://otd.plcm.vc/ews/exchange.asmx
  4. Click Save.

Configure Device Credentials

Provide calendaring credentials. This must be done on the device itself.

  1. On the device touch panel go to Settings > Basic > Exchange Sign In > Login Credentials.
  2. Enter the following fields:
    • Domain: Example OTD
    • Username: Example zdysgjdmwncq@otd.plcm.vc
    • Password: Example F3kDFyu1bD
  3. Click Save. The Registration Status should display Registered and the calendar should appear in a few seconds.

Alternative: Autoregistration

This device supports autoregistration to Office 365 (as well as Exchange Online). Autoregistration allows the device to use its own calendaring credentials instead of the credentials generated by One Touch Dial to obtain its calendar.

Configure Device Calendaring

  1. Go to the system web interface of the device, by entering the IP address of the device into the browser address. Note: You must log in as an administrator.
    Example: https://<ip-address-of-trio>/
  2. Select Settings > Applications > Exchange Applications.
  3. Enter the following fields:
    • Enable: Exchange Calendar
    • Disable: AutoDiscover
    • Exchange Server URL: https://otd.plcm.vc/ews/exchange.asmx
  4. Click Save.

Configure Device Credentials

Provide calendaring credentials. This must be done on the device itself.

  1. On the device touch panel go to Settings > Basic > Exchange Sign In > Login Credentials.
  2. Enter the following fields:
    • Domain: Example MYDOMAIN
    • Username: Example user@company.com
    • Password: Example myPassword1
  3. Click Save. The Registration Status should display Registered and the calendar should appear in a few seconds.

Note: Autoregistered devices will appear in the One Touch Dial application automatically once connected, but cannot be managed like registered devices. They can be given a name, and enabled/disabled, but their calendaring email cannot be modified.
